What BuilderVet is

BuilderVet organises public NSW registers and shows what each source said and when we read it. It is information. It is not advice, a credit report, a safety certificate, or a recommendation to hire or avoid any builder. Check the licence, ABN, insurance and contract yourself before you pay a deposit.

What you should know about the results

• Registers can be wrong, late or unavailable. A source we could not read, or could not search, is shown as that. It is never a clear result.
• “No matching record” means the source held no matching record when we read it on the date shown. It does not mean the builder is safe.
• Checks run on each source’s own schedule. This is not real-time monitoring.
• The Builder Wire shows headlines from news publishers. They are not our findings and we do not match them to any builder or person.

Your account

You sign in with an emailed link. Keep access to that inbox private. You are responsible for what happens in your account. Private notes and checklist answers belong to your account. See the privacy page for how we handle your information.

Paid products

• Build Watch: A$79 once, for one builder. A dated report, your own saved file, and scheduled checks of supported sources for 24 months from payment, to cover a typical build from deposit to handover. It does not renew by itself.
• Practice plan: A$199 a month, up to 25 builders. Saved evidence and monitoring for up to 25 builders, client folders, private notes, checklists and exports. It renews monthly until you cancel.

Prices are totals in Australian dollars. We are not registered for GST, so no GST is charged and our invoices are not tax invoices. We email an invoice for each payment, and all invoices stay in Billing. Stripe processes payments and hosts the card form; we never see your card number.

Cancelling and refunds

You can cancel the practice plan yourself at any time from Billing. Access continues to the end of the month you paid. Saved reports stay readable after monitoring ends.

If a paid product does not work as described, contact us and we will put it right or refund you where the law requires. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including a remedy for a major failure. Read the ACCC guidance.

Using BuilderVet

Use results for your own decisions about work you are considering. Do not copy the site or its data in bulk, run automated tools against it beyond what the public API and its limits allow, or use results to harass anyone. Do not use results for credit, insurance or employment decisions about an individual.

Data and ownership

Register data stays with its owners and their licences. ASIC and ABR data are CC-BY; attribution is on the data page. BuilderVet’s design, text and software are ours.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss that comes from relying on a register’s content, or from a register being wrong, late or unavailable. This does not limit any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be limited.

Changes and law

We may change these terms. The version on this page applies from the date shown. These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales.
