What BuilderVet is

BuilderVet is a search over Australian public registers — trade licences, Fair Trading disciplinary findings, ASIC company and insolvency events, and planning records — joined into one builder profile with point-in-time history. We publish facts that already appear on official public registers, with their sources and dates. We do not add ratings, opinions, or any data beyond what an official register publishes.

How we collect it

All collection is logged-out and non-personal by design: we read publicly available registers without authentication, without accepting any terms of service, and without circumventing access controls, honouring robots.txt and rate limits. The registers cover businesses and occupational licences; where a licence is held by an individual sole trader, that record is the register's public occupational record, not private personal data we sought.

The only personal data we hold: your email (optional)

If you join a waitlist, we store the email address you enter and which report you were interested in. That's it. We use it solely to email you when the relevant feature launches. We do not sell it, share it, or use it for anything else. Ask us to delete it at any time and we will.

Analytics

We record anonymous, aggregate usage events (e.g. a page was viewed, a button was clicked) to understand demand for paid features. These are not tied to your identity; IP addresses are stored only as a salted, truncated hash used to limit abuse, never as your address.

For AI agents & the MCP server

Our API and MCP server are read-only. They return the same public-register facts the website shows and collect no personal data from callers.

Corrections

If a record about you or your business is inaccurate, the authoritative fix is with the source register; once the register is corrected, our next capture reflects it. Contact us and we'll also review how we've presented it.
