Frequently asked questions

How BuilderVet works, where the facts come from, and what is free versus paid.

Is BuilderVet free?
Public builder search and source records are free. Build Watch is A$79 once per build. It covers one NSW builder: a dated file, a pre-deposit checklist and 24 months of supported-source change alerts, deposit to handover. Verified new members can watch one builder free for 30 days. Professional monitoring is A$199 a month for up to 25 builders. All prices are total AUD prices.
Where does BuilderVet get its data?
BuilderVet uses supported official public registers, including NSW licence, disciplinary and building-order records, linked ASIC company status and ABN status where held. Each result shows its source and date. Coverage varies by builder; missing or unavailable checks stay visible. See Data & sources for the current coverage.
How to check a NSW builder in 5 minutes
Does BuilderVet keep personal dossiers on individuals?
No. Profiles are keyed to companies and licences. BuilderVet does not link directors across companies or offer phoenix detection. Notes and checklists are private to the account that created them.
Which regions does BuilderVet cover?
The current product covers NSW builders. Search by business name, ABN, ACN or licence number. Some records may have missing linked identifiers. BuilderVet does not claim complete national coverage.
Why can a removed official record still appear?
BuilderVet can retain a dated snapshot of a public record that was later removed from its source. It labels the record as archived and shows the capture date. A removed record is not a new finding. Use the source link and contact us if a record needs correction.
What happens after I buy a report?
Your account keeps the dated report and PDF export. Build Watch (A$79 once) includes 24 months of supported-source change alerts for that builder, deposit to handover. Monitoring ends after the term unless you renew; it does not renew automatically. New reports do not include unlimited AI advice. Existing legacy purchases keep their original access.
